  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 8 servings 1x

Description

S’mores Puppy Chow is a delicious, no-bake snack mix that combines the classic flavors of s’mores with crunchy Golden Grahams cereal, melted chocolate, peanut butter, and mini marshmallows. Perfect for parties, road trips, or anytime you want a sweet treat that’s easy to make and irresistibly tasty.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups (180g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 6 cups (around 250g) Golden Grahams cereal
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (90g) mini marshmallows, divided

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (125g) creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sugar Coating: Pour the confectioners’ sugar into a large zip-top bag and set it aside for later use.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Peanut Butter: In a large pot or saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and creamy peanut butter. Stir constantly to prevent burning. Once fully melted, add half of the mini marshmallows (3/4 cup or 45g) and stir until they soften and partially melt into the mixture. Remove from heat once combined.
  3. Coat the Cereal: Add the Golden Grahams cereal to the melted chocolate-peanut butter mixture. Gently stir to ensure every piece is thoroughly coated.
  4. Mix with Confectioners’ Sugar: Transfer the coated cereal mixture into the prepared zip-top bag containing the confectioners’ sugar. Seal the bag tightly and shake vigorously for at least 60 seconds, making sure every piece is evenly coated with sugar.
  5. Add Remaining Marshmallows and Cool: Spread the coated cereal out onto a lined baking sheet. Gently mix in the remaining mini marshmallows. Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes so it sets properly before serving.
  6. Storage: Store the S’mores Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature. It will keep fresh for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • Use a low heat setting when melting chocolate and peanut butter to avoid burning the mixture.
  • Gently stir the cereal during coating to avoid breaking the pieces.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter and check for allergy-safe products.
  • Ensure the mixture cools completely before storage to maintain crunchiness.
  • This snack is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to one week.
