Description
A simple and delicious recipe for crispy and golden Air-Fryer Halloumi cheese, seasoned with olive oil, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Perfect as a snack or appetizer, this method uses an air fryer to achieve the ideal texture quickly and easily.
Ingredients
Scale
Halloumi Cheese
- 8 ounces halloumi cheese
Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (or more to taste)
- Garlic powder (to taste, optional)
- Smoked paprika (to taste, optional)
Other
- Non-aerosol cooking spray (for basket)
Instructions
- Preheat air-fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 385°F to ensure it reaches the right temperature for cooking the halloumi evenly.
- Slice halloumi: Cut the halloumi cheese into ½-inch thick slices and pat each slice dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture for better crisping.
- Season: Brush both sides of each halloumi slice with olive oil. Optionally, sprinkle garlic powder and smoked paprika on both sides to add flavor.
- Arrange: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with a non-aerosol cooking spray. Place the halloumi slices in a single layer, making sure the pieces do not touch to allow proper air circulation.
- Air-fry: Cook the halloumi in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through the cooking time. The cheese should turn golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the halloumi from the air fryer and serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
- Patting the halloumi dry before cooking helps achieve a crispier texture.
- Adjust seasoning amounts according to your personal taste.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
- Halloumi is best served immediately as it tends to lose crispiness when cooled.
