  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Salt

Description

Sweet Chili Brussels Sprouts are crispy oven-roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in a flavorful sweet chili and soy sauce glaze, making a perfect savory and slightly sweet side dish that’s easy to prepare and delightful to serve.

Ingredients

Scale

Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons low-sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and help with easy cleanup.
  2. Toss sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Toss gently until the sprouts are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
  3. Roast: Arrange the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast them in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned and the sprouts are crispy on the outside.
  4. Glaze: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and drizzle the sweet chili sauce and low-sodium soy sauce evenly over the roasted Brussels sprouts. Toss gently to coat them thoroughly with the glaze, then return the sheet to the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set and caramelize slightly.
  5. Serve: Once glazed and caramelized, transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, make sure the sprouts are dry before tossing with oil.
  • You can adjust the amount of sweet chili sauce to your preferred level of sweetness and spice.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated, but the sprouts are best enjoyed fresh and crispy.
  • To make the recipe vegan, ensure your sweet chili sauce is vegan-friendly.
  • This recipe pairs well with grilled or roasted meats as a flavorful side.
