  • Yield: About 1 cup (enough to serve 8-10 people as a spread) 1x

Description

This Homemade Cinnamon Butter is a luscious and creamy spread that combines softened unsalted butter with confectioners’ sugar, honey or maple syrup, and warm ground cinnamon. Perfect for enhancing toast, pancakes, muffins, or even sweet potatoes, this easy-to-make butter adds a delightful sweet and spiced flavor to your favorite dishes. With a smooth texture and a hint of honey sweetness balanced by a pinch of salt, it’s a versatile topping that’s ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (16 Tbsp; 226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (30g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or more to taste (up to 1 1/4 teaspoons)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the Butter: In a large bowl, use a handheld mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment to beat the softened unsalted butter for 1 minute on medium speed until it becomes completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the confectioners’ sugar, honey or pure maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Beat everything together on medium-high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until the mixture is extra creamy and a little fluffy. Use a silicone spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed, then beat again to combine.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste the cinnamon butter and add more cinnamon if desired (up to 1 1/4 teaspoons), as well as more salt if preferred. Beat briefly to incorporate any additional ingredients.
  4. Serve and Store: Serve the cinnamon butter with an optional drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and/or a sprinkle of cinnamon or flaky sea salt on top. Store leftovers in a tightly covered container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for 2 to 3 months.

Notes

  • Use softened unsalted butter for the best creamy texture.
  • You can substitute honey with pure maple syrup or vice versa for slight flavor variation.
  • Adjust the cinnamon and salt levels according to your taste preferences.
  • Store refrigerated butter for longer shelf life and bring to room temperature before serving for easy spreading.
  • This butter pairs wonderfully with breakfast breads, pancakes, muffins, or even roasted vegetables.
