Description

Create a festive and healthy Fruit Christmas Tree centerpiece that’s perfect for holiday gatherings. This colorful arrangement features a pineapple and pear base adorned with a variety of fresh fruits, shaped to resemble a Christmas tree, making it a delightful and nutritious treat for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 ripe pineapple
  • 1 firm pear
  • 1 bamboo skewer

Fruit Decorations

  • 2 clementines (peeled and separated)
  • 3 kiwi fruits (trimmed and cut into sixths)
  • 8 ounces strawberries (stems removed)
  • 6 ounces blackberries
  • 6 ounces blueberries
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • Toothpicks (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Carve pineapple: Slice off the top and bottom of the pineapple to create a stable base. Then carve a thin, star-shaped slice from the top portion to be used later as the tree topper.
  2. Assemble base: Trim the pear into a cone shape to mimic the form of a Christmas tree. Place the pear on top of the pineapple base and insert the bamboo skewer through the center to secure both pieces firmly together.
  3. Attach fruit: Use toothpicks to affix the fruit decorations onto the pineapple and pear base. Start with the larger fruit pieces like clementine segments, kiwi slices, and strawberries, spacing them evenly. Then fill in the gaps with smaller fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, red grapes, and green grapes to create a full, colorful look.
  4. Top tree: Place the carved star-shaped pineapple slice on the very top of the pear cone and secure it with a toothpick. Serve immediately to maintain freshness and vibrant fruit colors.

Notes

  • Use a ripe yet firm pineapple for stability and easier carving.
  • Make sure the pear is firm so it holds its shape well as the tree cone.
  • Cut fruit close to serving time to avoid browning and maintain freshness.
  • You can substitute other colorful fruits like mango chunks or raspberries as desired.
  • This fruit tree works great as a healthy holiday centerpiece and party snack.
