  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 8 servings 1x

Description

Boat Dip is a creamy, flavorful dip combining sour cream, taco seasoning, ranch mix, tangy Rotel tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese. This easy no-cook dip is perfect for parties and gatherings, served chilled with chips, veggies, or crackers for a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (or homemade)
  • 1 10-ounce can Rotel tomatoes (drained)
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the sour cream, taco seasoning, ranch dressing mix, drained Rotel tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese until everything is well combined and evenly distributed.
  2. Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to thicken slightly.
  3. Serve: After chilling, serve the dip cold alongside an assortment of dippers such as tortilla chips, potato chips, crackers, Fritos, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute the packet seasonings with homemade versions to control salt and ingredients.
  • For a spicier dip, add more Rotel or a dash of hot sauce.
  • This dip is best served cold and can be stored covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • If preferred, use reduced-fat sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Mix well before serving if the dip has been stored for a while.
