These sticky pecan cinnamon buns are a decadent treat that are perfect for breakfast or dessert. The combination of sweet caramel, crunchy pecans, and warm cinnamon in a soft bun is pure bliss.

Dough:
- 1 cup whole milk (240g)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar (70g)
- 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 3/4 cups all purpose flour (490g)
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 teaspoon salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (85g)
Optional Cream Soak:
- 1/3 cup cream (80g)
Sticky Pecan Topping:
- 2 1/3 cup pecan pieces and halves, toasted (260g)
- 1/3 cup maple syrup (100g)
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar (200g)
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (170g)
- 1/4 cup milk (60g)
- 1/2 tsp salt
Filling:
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (85g)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (150g)
- 1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Dough: Microwave milk until warm, mix with yeast, sugar, then add remaining dough ingredients and knead
- Sticky Pecan Topping: Prepare and cool pecan topping ingredients
- Filling: Mix butter, cinnamon, sugar, and salt
- Assembly & Baking: Roll out dough, spread filling, cut into strips, roll into buns, place on pecan topping, proof, bake, and serve
Notes
- You can refrigerate the unbaked rolls overnight and bake them in the morning for fresh buns
- Feel free to customize with additional spices or a drizzle of icing
