Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients for Peanut Butter Icing

  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (ensure it’s xylitol-free)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch (or potato starch as an alternative)
  • 34 tablespoons hot water

Instructions

  1. Mix Peanut Butter and Honey: In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter with 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.
  2. Add Cornstarch: Gradually add 1/3 cup of cornstarch to the peanut butter and honey mixture. Stir continuously to avoid clumps and ensure the mixture thickens properly.
  3. Incorporate Hot Water: Slowly add 3 tablespoons of hot water to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until the icing is smooth and pipeable. Adjust by adding more water or cornstarch to achieve desired consistency.
  4. Decorate Your Dog Treats: After your dog biscuits have cooled completely, use a piping bag or spoon to apply the peanut butter icing. Create fun designs like zigzags, paw prints, or personalize with your dog’s name.

Notes

  • Always use natural peanut butter that does not contain xylitol, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
  • Ensure the dog treats are completely cooled before applying the icing to prevent melting.
  • If corn starch isn’t available, potato starch is a suitable alternative.
  • Adjust water quantity to achieve desired icing consistency for easier piping or spreading.
  • This icing is intended as a topping for dog treats and should be used in moderation as a treat.
