Description

A refreshing and vibrant Mango Hibiscus Iced Tea combining tart hibiscus floral notes with sweet, ripe mango purée, lightly sweetened with agave syrup and brightened with lemon juice—perfect for a cooling summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Hibiscus Tea

  • 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
  • 5 cups boiling water

Mango Purée

  • 1 large ripe mango, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon water

To Serve

  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hibiscus Tea: Place 2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers in a tea kettle and pour 5 cups of boiling water over them. Allow the mixture to steep and cool down fully. To expedite cooling, transfer the tea to the refrigerator after about 30 minutes.
  2. Make Mango Purée: Peel and slice one large ripe mango, then add the mango slices to a blender along with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons agave syrup, and 1 tablespoon water. Blend until smooth, then store the purée in an airtight container in the fridge to keep chilled.
  3. Serve the Drink: In a serving glass, add desired amount of mango purée, 1 cup of ice, and pour over the chilled hibiscus tea. Stir thoroughly to combine all flavors and serve immediately for a cool, refreshing beverage.

Notes

  • Use a ripe mango for the sweetest, most flavorful purée.
  • Adjust the agave syrup quantity to your preferred sweetness level.
  • If hibiscus flowers are not available, you can use hibiscus tea bags as a substitute.
  • To make this drink vegan and gluten-free, ensure the sweetener and hibiscus are pure and free from additives.
  • Store leftover hibiscus tea and mango purée separately in the fridge and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
