Lavender Lemon Tartlet Recipe

  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 tartlets 1x

Description

This Lavender Lemon Tartlet recipe features a refreshing citrus filling made with sweetened condensed milk and fresh lemon juice, nestled in crisp tartlet shells and finished with a delicate garnish of food-grade lavender buds. Perfect for a light dessert with a floral twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 14 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 Lemons (juiced)
  • Zest of ½ lemon

Tart Shells

  • 12 Premade Tartlet Shells

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp Food Grade Lavender Buds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Open the can of sweetened condensed milk and pour it into a mixer bowl. Juice both lemons and zest half of one lemon. Combine the lemon juice, sweetened condensed milk, and a sprinkle of lemon zest. Whisk the mixture vigorously for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly, then refrigerate to cool the filling.
  2. Bake Tart Shells: Bake the premade tartlet shells according to the package instructions until they turn lightly golden. Allow them to cool completely before filling.
  3. Fill the Tartlets: Once the filling is chilled, spoon or scoop it into the cooled tartlet shells. Alternatively, transfer the filling into a sandwich bag, snip a small corner, and pipe the filling into each shell to reduce mess.
  4. Chill the Filled Tartlets: Return the filled tartlets to the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve, allowing the filling to set further.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, lightly sprinkle the tops of the filled tartlets with the food-grade lavender buds for a fragrant, decorative finish.

Notes

  • Ensure to use food-grade lavender buds, as other varieties may not be safe for consumption.
  • Using a piping bag makes filling the tartlets cleaner and more precise.
  • Chilling the tartlets enhances the texture of the filling and overall taste.
  • Store leftover tartlets in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
