- 3 cups of water
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers (Flor de Jamaica)
- 2 cups sugar
Instructions
- Steep Hibiscus: Place hibiscus flowers and water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, then turn off heat; steep for 30 minutes or more.
- Strain and Sweeten: Strain hibiscus tea into a bowl, pressing to release all liquid, discard hibiscus. Pour tea back into saucepan, add sugar, and bring back to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar completely.
- Cool and Store: Remove from heat and let cool. Once cool, pour syrup into a jar with an airtight lid. Syrup will keep up to 1 month refrigerated.
