Hemp Seed Chocolate Bliss Balls Recipe

  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 bliss balls 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Hemp Seed Chocolate Bliss Balls are a nutritious, no-bake treat combining natural sweetness from dates, rich peanut butter, and antioxidant-packed cocoa powder. Enhanced with hemp seeds for added protein and healthy fats, these bliss balls are perfect for a quick energy boost or a guilt-free dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Bliss Ball Mixture

  • 1/2 cup dates (about 8 dates), pitted
  • 12 tbsp hot water (optional, use only if dates are hard)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Toppings

  • 12 tbsp chocolate chips
  • More hemp seeds for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dates: Start by pitting the dates and placing them in a food processor. Add 1 tablespoon of hot water if the dates are hard, then pulse until the dates form a sticky ball.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the peanut butter, 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds, and cocoa powder to the food processor. Pulse a few times to fully combine the mixture. The dough should be moist yet hold its shape; if too wet, add a bit more cocoa powder.
  3. Chill Dough: Refrigerate the dough for 15 minutes to firm it up, making it easier to handle when rolling into balls.
  4. Form Balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and gently roll it into approximately 12 equally sized balls. Place the formed bliss balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Melt Chocolate and Decorate: In a small bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bliss balls and sprinkle with additional hemp seeds for garnish.
  6. Set and Serve: Place the decorated bliss balls back in the fridge to set the chocolate, about 10-15 minutes. Serve chilled as a healthy snack or dessert.

Notes

  • If dates are too dry, adding hot water helps blend the mixture smoothly.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • Store bliss balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract to the mixture.
  • These bliss balls are naturally gluten-free and vegetarian.
