Ingredients
Scale
Orange Rolls
- ½ cup Florida Orange Juice Marmalade
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Refrigerated dough (about 1 package, approximately 16 oz)
- ½ tsp kosher salt
Florida Orange Glaze
- ¼ cup Florida Orange Juice
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- ¼ cup milk
- A dash of salt
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the refrigerated dough into a long rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread Marmalade: Evenly spread ½ cup of Florida Orange Juice Marmalade over the entire surface of the rolled-out dough.
- Add Butter and Sugar: Pour ½ cup melted butter evenly over the marmalade, then sprinkle 1 cup brown sugar and ½ tsp kosher salt evenly on top.
- Roll the Dough: Starting at the long side farthest from you, carefully roll the dough tightly towards yourself. Pinch the edges to seal the roll and prevent filling from leaking out.
- Cut Rolls: Cut the rolled dough into 1 to 1 ½ inch thick slices to form individual rolls.
- Arrange and Rise: Place the rolls into buttered baking pans spaced slightly apart to allow for rising. Cover and allow to rise for at least 20 minutes in a warm spot.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375° F (190° C) while the rolls rise.
- Bake Rolls: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they become golden brown but not overly browned.
- Mix Glaze: While the rolls are baking, combine ¼ cup Florida Orange Juice, 1 lb powdered sugar, 3 tbsp melted butter, ¼ cup milk, and a dash of salt in a bowl. Whisk thoroughly until smooth to create the Florida Orange Glaze.
- Glaze and Serve: Remove rolls from the oven and immediately drizzle the orange glaze over the warm rolls. Serve warm or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use refrigerated dough for convenience, but fresh yeast dough can be substituted with similar rolling and rising times.
- Ensure rolls are not overbaked to keep them soft and moist.
- Allowing the rolls to rise longer can result in fluffier texture.
- The glaze sets best when applied warm to warm rolls.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
