  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Deliciously flaky croissants stuffed with a creamy herb-infused cream cheese filling, topped with melted Gruyere cheese and baked to golden perfection. This easy-to-make recipe transforms simple croissants into an elegant savory treat perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese (whipped)
  • 23 tbsp fresh chives (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp dried herbs of choice (parsley, oregano, tarragon)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Assembling

  • 8 croissants
  • Gruyere cheese (to taste, grated)
  • 12 tbsp butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, finely chopped fresh chives, and dried herbs. Season with salt and pepper to your liking, then mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
  2. Stuff the croissants: Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a piping bag. Carefully pipe the filling evenly inside each croissant, making sure they are well stuffed without tearing the dough.
  3. Add butter and cheese toppings: Brush the tops of each stuffed croissant generously with melted butter. Then, sprinkle a generous amount of grated Gruyere cheese on top for that rich cheesy crust.
  4. Bake the croissants: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Place the croissants on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are lightly golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can variate the herbs based on your preference or what you have on hand.
  • Gruyere can be substituted with other melty cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar if desired.
  • For extra crispiness, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Use fresh croissants for best texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 2 days; reheat gently in an oven or toaster oven.
