  • Yield: 10-12 bites 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

Delicious and nutritious Cosmic Brownie Protein Bites combine rich chocolate flavor with protein-packed ingredients for a perfect snack or post-workout boost. These no-bake bites feature a mix of almond butter, protein powder, and cacao powder, coated with melted chocolate and decorative sprinkles for a fun, energizing treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 scoop protein powder (33g)
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup almond butter

Topping

  • 1 cup chocolate (for melting and coating)
  • Sprinkles, as desired

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, and almond butter until smooth. Add the protein powder, cacao powder, and almond flour to the bowl, stirring until a thick dough forms.
  2. Form the Bites: Using a cookie scoop, portion the dough and roll each scoop into a ball with your hands. Arrange the balls on a flat surface or tray. Repeat until all the dough is used. Place the formed bites in the refrigerator for 1 hour to firm up.
  3. Melt Chocolate: After the bites have chilled, melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  4. Coat Bites: Dip each protein bite into the melted chocolate to coat evenly. Place them back onto the flat surface or parchment paper and immediately add sprinkles on top for decoration.
  5. Set the Coating: Return the coated bites to the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, allowing the chocolate to harden completely.
  6. Storage: Store the finished protein bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze the bites in a suitable container.

Notes

  • Use a high-quality protein powder for best flavor and texture.
  • Ensure the chocolate is fully melted but not too hot to maintain a smooth coating.
  • These bites can be customized with different nut butters or protein flavors.
  • For a vegan version, use vegan protein powder and dairy-free chocolate.
  • Store frozen bites in a freezer-safe container to prolong freshness up to 3 months.
