  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

This festive Christmas Mint Oreo Fudge is a delightful and creamy treat combining smooth white chocolate, refreshing peppermint, and crunchy Oreo cookies. Perfect for holiday celebrations, this easy-to-make fudge blends sweet and minty flavors with a rich texture, finished with visually appealing green coloring and Oreo pieces for a fun crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • 16 oz white chocolate chips (Ghirardelli recommended for smooth melting)
  • 1 can (14 oz/400 ml) sweetened condensed milk (or light version for fewer calories)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened, Land O’Lakes preferred)

Flavoring and Mix-ins

  • 1 tsp pure peppermint extract
  • A few drops green gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1820 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped (double-stuf for extra chew)
  • Pinch fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides to make removal of the fudge easier later.
  2. Make the Fudge Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and softened butter. Stir constantly for about 4 to 5 minutes until the mixture is silky smooth and fully melted.
  3. Add Flavor and Color: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the peppermint extract, green gel food coloring if using, and a pinch of fine sea salt. Mix thoroughly until the fudge mixture turns a pastel green color.
  4. Mix in the Oreos: Gently fold half of the chopped Oreo cookies into the fudge mixture, ensuring some larger chunks remain for added texture and crunch.
  5. Chill the Fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chopped Oreos evenly on top and gently press them into the surface. Refrigerate for at least 45 minutes or overnight for a firmer set.
  6. Slice and Serve: Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Using a sharp knife, slice into 1-inch squares. For clean cuts, briefly warm the knife blade under hot water and wipe dry between slices.

Notes

  • Use pure peppermint extract for authentic mint flavor; avoid imitation extracts.
  • Double-stuf Oreos enhance the chewiness of the fudge.
  • For firmer fudge, chill overnight instead of just 45 minutes.
  • Warming the knife blade before slicing ensures smooth, clean pieces.
  • The green food coloring is optional but adds festive holiday appeal.
