Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients:
- 1 can chickpeas (15 ounces) (drain and rinse)
- 10 pitted Medjool dates
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup water
Instructions
- Add all chickpeas, dates, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt into a food processor and process for about 30 seconds or until it looks coarse. Add water gradually and process for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture reaches a smooth, creamy, and thick consistency. It should be thicker than standard hummus. Start with 1/2 cup of water, then add more as needed, up to 3/4 cup, to achieve the desired texture.
- Taste the hummus and, if you prefer it sweeter, add a bit of maple syrup and process until well combined. Serve with cinnamon sugar pita chips and fresh fruit slices.
