  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed or grated
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cooking salt or kosher salt

Bread Batter:

  • 2 1/4 cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda (or 3 1/2 tsp baking powder)
  • 3/4 tsp cooking salt or kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup full-fat milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50g (3 1/2 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 small garlic cloves, crushed or grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the herb mixture: Combine rosemary, parsley, oregano, thyme, garlic, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Whisk wet ingredients: Mix yogurt, milk, eggs, butter, olive oil, and garlic in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Mix until just combined.
  6. Layer the batter: Alternate batter, herb mixture, and cheese slices in the loaf pan.
