Description

These Birthday Cake Batter Protein Balls are a fun, colorful, and nutritious snack combining creamy peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, and rainbow sprinkles. Perfect for a quick energy boost or a guilt-free treat, they require no baking and are easy to prepare in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 scoops (50g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon milk (if dough is too dry)
  • Optional: extra sprinkles for rolling

Instructions

  1. Heat Peanut Butter and Sweetener: Combine the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 20–30 seconds, then stir thoroughly until the mixture is completely smooth.
  2. Mix Protein Powder and Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla protein powder, a pinch of salt, and vanilla or almond extract into the warmed peanut butter mixture. Mix well until a thick, pliable dough forms. Adjust the consistency by adding a teaspoon of milk if too dry or more protein powder if too wet.
  3. Fold in Sprinkles: Gently fold in the rainbow sprinkles carefully so that the colors do not bleed into the dough.
  4. Form Balls: Scoop one tablespoon of the dough at a time and roll it between your palms until you achieve a smooth, even ball shape.
  5. Optional Decorating: Roll the protein balls in extra rainbow sprinkles for added color and festive appearance if desired.
  6. Chill to Set: Place the completed protein balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow them to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • Use natural peanut butter without added sugars or oils for best results.
  • Maple syrup is an excellent vegan alternative to honey.
  • If your protein powder is unflavored or different flavor, adjust vanilla or almond extract accordingly.
  • Keep the dough chilled if it becomes too sticky while rolling.
  • Store these protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
