  • Author: lilan
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cookies 1x

Description

Enjoy two perfectly soft and chewy snickerdoodle cookies made quickly and easily in your air fryer. These classic cinnamon-sugar cookies are buttery, tender, and ready in under 30 minutes, making them a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter: Place the butter in a medium-sized mixing bowl and microwave it until melted.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add 3 tablespoons of sugar, the egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Stir well with a fork until everything is combined.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: Stir in the flour, cornstarch, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture until smooth and well combined.
  4. Shape Dough: Form the cookie dough into two equal-sized balls.
  5. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: On a plate, mix the remaining 2 teaspoons of sugar with the ground cinnamon. Roll each cookie dough ball through this cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them thoroughly.
  7. Air Fry Cookies: Lightly flatten each coated dough ball and place them a couple of inches apart on air fryer parchment paper. Place the paper with cookies inside the preheated air fryer and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Cool Cookies: Remove the basket from the air fryer but leave the cookies inside to cool for at least 20 minutes. This resting time allows the cookies to firm up and prevents them from falling apart when handled.

Notes

  • Be sure to use air fryer parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Allow cookies to cool completely in the air fryer basket for best texture.
  • You can double the recipe by cooking cookies in batches.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, increase cinnamon in the coating slightly.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
